The kid found her book, and we wandered off to check out the F/SF, then came back to the kid's section to look for Matilda. The woman had found a series of books about each of the Presidents, and was eagerly searching through because they were exactly what she wanted. I heard her express dismay that the one book she wanted wasn't in the pile, and the woman helping her was apologetic. They even considered checking online to see if the book from that series was available for ordering. I didn't offer to help, because I couldn't think of a polite way to do so.
They won't ever find that book they're seeking, at least not in that particular series. Benjamin Franklin was never President.
