BAGHDAD (Reuters) - The U.S. military has reprimanded six senior commissioned and non-commissioned officers in connection with the abuse of prisoners at the Abu Ghraib prison outside Baghdad, a senior U.S. military official said on Monday.
I'm guessing, since this was a separate admin investigation not looking at the criminal charges (that is still ongoing) that these folks were the ones who ought to have known or were responsible for keeping things like this from happening. Reprimands are pretty much career-ending things, but that won't mean a whole lot to Al-jazeera's viewer base. I wish the Army had waited to release the info until after they had dealt with the criminal investigation.
But that's only my two cents.
