More environmental mail...

How did I end up on an environmental mailing list? The Nature Conservancy sent me a snail mail today, but unlike the ridiculous phone solicitation I commented on before or the mail I returned to the Sierra Club for recycling, I might actually send them money...but I am afraid it’ll be like spam...hit one and all of a sudden you get tons....

Ah, well. I can always send the unwanted ones back in the postage-paid envelopes. Unless one comes from PETA. Then I’d have to move. Those people are crazy.

I plan to support the Nature COnservancy when I get financially secure (Ha!). =) I really like what I've heard/know about them.

They own the big Tall Grass Prairie reserve out by where I live.

Silly me
Heh. I just remembered as I was talking with hubby that we already do support The Nature Conservancy with my payroll deduction - it's split halvers with St Judes. ;o) Guess I'll just have to send a check to Ducks Unlimited instead.

But I like the umbrella the Nature Conservancy will send me. ;o)

I agree--PETA is a bunch of nutcases.

We once sent some $$ to Habitat for Humanity, and then we got their brochures until we moved (and I guess they lost us after that). But it didn't seem to result in piles of spam from other charities.

The phone beggers are worse. They all seem to know our number. Except for the one that comes around and picks up unwanted clothing, they all gets 'no's... I refuse to donate over the phone, especially after reading about how much of the donation goes to the telemarketters collecting the money.
