Truck is fixed. I don't have to wake the girl up early so I can get to work. :happydance: Turns out the tranny was all right, it was the rear differential, which was just as expensive as if it had been the transmission. The truck has now had work that costs more than its replacement value. :Sigh:

Speaking of getting to work, the training cycle is nearly over. The last couple of weeks have been almost exclusively engineering, and now we're ready for the last hurrah. I feel good about the package we've put together. It ought to play out very well.

But I like having the time set aside. Now if my knees will just stop aching....

Been reading a lot lately, and not writing so much. A few fanfic bits, but not much more. I don't think I'll be doing that fifty-book list or anything, though. Assassination Vacation by Sarah Vowell was the latest. Liked it very much, I did, even if her politics and mine don't align. Well, they do align, but as opposite ends of a vector.

Now, if I can just stay away from the coca-cola at home and stick to tea....
