Was looking for a specific file on the computer today, and found some nice old pages from the old KTBB. Actually, they weren't nice at all. Reminded me so much why I was glad to be done.

But I did find something worth salvaging. I had forgotten what my siggie had been in the days between finding out it was closing down and the night several of us un-hosted ourselves from the site:

Oh come on Stan! Not everything ends the way you think it should! Besides, audiences love happy endings.
- Gabriel: Swordfish

I know you're out there. I can feel you now. I know that you're afraid... afraid of us. You're afraid of change. I don't know the future. I didn't come here to tell you how this is going to end. I came here to tell how it's going to begin. I'm going to hang up this phone, and then show these people what you don't want them to see. I'm going to show them a world without you. A world without rules or controls, borders or boundaries. A world where anything is possible. Where we go from there is a choice I leave to you.

"What we call the beginning is often the end. And to make an end is to make a beginning. The end is where we start from."
--T. S. Eliot

I loved KTBB in the beginning. Probably would have continued to love it if I hadn't done the hostie thing. But at the end? It was definitely time for me to go.
