What is a JQR

JQR stands for "Job Qualification Requirement" in the Navy, and they are
basically locally-generated lists of knowledge and tasks that someone needs
to be able to do a specific job. The Navy-wide lists like these are called
PQS, or Personnel Qualification Standards.

Why is JQR the topic of the evening? (For it is evening here--1730 on a
Sunday evening.)

Because I found the one for the Combat Systems Training Team, along with the
ship's instruction dealing with the Training Team, and it's now my task to
check it over and revise or update as necessary. When will I learn to stop
finding more work for myself?

But it's neat, too, because training and qualifying the folks who train
everyone else is important. Everyone likes meaningful work, after all.

Now I'm back to my "pool of light" system of working. I get some good music
going in the space (room), then turn out the lights, turn on the desk light,
and focus all of my attention in the little pool of light that is now my
work area. Kills distractions pretty well.

Off to work!
