won't be working. In theory, of course--the more senior you are, the more
Sunday becomes catch-up day.
Last night I stood watch from 20-2400 (8pm-midnight) to wrap up most of my
PQS*. When I got up there, everyone was standing in the passageway because
one of the guys had passed major gas. After that, he left his stink-bombs
out in the passageway. ;o)
So this morning, I decided that on Mother's Day I'd take a little time to
catch up, so I didn't get up until 1000. Yes, today I was a Rack Monster.
:o) I read a bit, too. I've been slowly working my way through Elizabeth
Bear's Hammered, and I really like it. If I didn't need sleep, I'd be done
with it already. I really like the way she handled the first/third person
POV. Beautiful. And the story's damned good, too.
But now I have work to finish. End-of-tour award for someone leaving soon,
and an evaluation for another person, drill packages for casualty control
exercises, and 'lessons learned'** from the last set. And more watch
sometime today, of course.
