Garden blogging

The tomatoes came last week while I was underway, and hubby planted them. The carrots and the chives are starting to come up, so everything is going as it should.

Except that the cats seem to think that the tomato barrels are litter boxes. And I think one of them peed on the marjoram. We're scattering citrus peel to see if that deters them. Hope it does. If not, we'll have to go with stickypaws (double-sided tape).

The nasturtiums are just gorgeous.

Cat Deterrents
We had some success with white pepper scattered around ... the cats sniff, sneeze and decide to go somewhere else.

I shouldn't laugh, because having cats pee in your plants isn't cool! at all! my boyfriend nic is hanging our catnip plants from hooks on the porch. I hope that Albert the cat doesn't suddenly develop Air Jordan-like jumping skills. we are trying to grow everything from scratch--indoors for the time being, until it warms up.
