Progress

Progress of a sort, anyhow. 1100 words for the Serai story, bringing it up over 3000. Ray Tanner (the character who seems to be defining the action in the story) just sort of shook me and said, "Write this." So I did. And I met Wisp the gray kitten, making his debut and exit.

Lots of holes scattered in there, and some of them will probably never get filled. After all, who wants to read about someone bored, distracted, and wanting to be somewhere else? But other holes are necessary, and I simply couldn't go back there tonight with Ray demanding that I work a different segment of the story. I am thinking perhaps this one will be written in big pieces that get fitted together later. Never quite done it that way before.

And now, to sleep.

Yay! 1100! Writing in big pieces that get fitted together later...haven't we done that in some of our fic? lol I've certainly done it in all of my books. Usually, the pieces get reworked as the story fills in around them, but the main point of whatever the "piece" may have been typically remains. You might have a similar experience.
