There's something very odd about listening to a parade on the radio. (That would be the one in downtown San Diego this morning.) It's just strange.

And the girlchild has produced more of her own unique...fanfiction, I suppose. Will scan and post later. It's lovely.

And funny you bring up parades.

I asked the hubby to take me on a short date-like outing today, and he took me to The Henry Ford (aka the tourist place formerly known as "Greenfield Village"). One of the new exhibits was a rare collection of parade "heads" dating back to the 1940s. These are the large charicature-type papermache masks donned by parade walkers.

It was kewl. It was art. It was history.

They even had Rosa Parks--and Tom Selleck!
