Making cookies

The sugar cookie dough is in the fridge, chilling so we can roll it out.

The shortbread is mixed and waiting for a pan.

But the little pecan cookies are taking forever to bake. I think I made them too large, and since I keep peeking to see if they are done...yeah.

Yummie! I baked most of the day, too, while my two older kids and my spare, Jess, cavorted in the eight inches of fresh snow. My littlest, Laura, played in the snow, too, but mostly helped me bake, and she did a great job! We made five Pumpkin Harvest loaves, and four dozen Peppermint Thumbprint cookies--two holiday recipe favorites in our family. And Laura's thumb was the perfect size for the peppermint icing divot. She earned two cookies for her efforts. No one else got any. And she's letting everyone else know that. :o)

Hee!

Unfortunately for the shortbread, I mixed it before and after the pecan cookies...and I forgot that I was doubling the recipe. So we had butter-drenched crumbs.
